CERTIFICATE OF PASTORAL CARE
The course is an excellent “enabler” for those who wish to work in Pastoral Care. Subjects cover all the interpersonal skills needed; particularly listening, attending and responding to the needs of another person. Every aspect is covered from looking into your Church or organisations policy on Pastoral Care, Confidentiality, Legislation and Record Keeping, through to understanding your own spiritual gifts, working in teams and caring for oneself in an emotionally charged environment. The additional course of Counselling Basics 1 & 2 provide a deep understanding of what to do and what not to do when it comes to assisting people with more complex problems. Through his “user-friendly” style, Grant Buchanan delivers a well packed Counselling Basics course which gives; understanding on how people respond to life with attitudes, emotions, pre-learnt behaviours and deep seated misconceptions about God.
