What a brilliant decision you have made to enrol in the Certificate of Youth Ministry to help you understand how to engage youth culture and how to minister to young people inside the Church and in your community.
We have created this page to get you off to a flying start with your program of study. So please take a few minutes to read this page and follow the instructions.
Getting the most out of your study
- Take a moment to pray before you start a study session
- Ask God for wisdom, insight and understanding.
- Pause and rewind when you are not sure about what is being said.
- The courses are designed with a lot of information packed into a lesson.
- Take notes.
- This helps greatly with understanding and remembering.
- Give yourself separate time and space to do each lesson.
- Allow 30 mins per lesson, don’t rush.
- Only do 3 lessons per study session.
- If you are unsure about a term or a concept.
- use the E-library to do some research.
- use the community chat rooms to ask a question.
Recommended course order
- Youth Ministry 1 – Part 1
- How to understand youth culture and apply it to youth ministry in a local Church. Then use those skills to reach out to young people in the community.
- Youth Ministry 1 – Part 2
- To develop yourself as a leader and develop the leadership skills of those around you in your youth ministry.
- Youth Ministry 2 – Part 1
- How to understand the changing society and the impact those changes have on communicating with youth when you are competing for their attention.
- Youth Ministry 2 – Part 2
- To reflect & adapt to changes to grow a successful ministry, including junior youth, high school youth & young adults. Building the skills needed by youth leaders to minister in a local church.
- Concepts for Youth Ministry
- Learn valuable drivers for effective youth ministry including; purpose, small groups, events, transitions and health indicators.
