Old testament prophets
I’ve learnt that the common message for most of the prophets in the Old testament was about warnings of God’s impending wrath to address wrong doings or disobedience, call to repentance, judgement and restoration.
Secondly the prediction of the Messiah and the messianic significance.
For example in Daniel the 4th man in the fire, Christ as the son of Man, Christ as the Stone cut out without hands and the everlasting kingdom of Christ foretold which was a fulfillment in the gospel books.
In the book of Zechariah we see the prediction of Christ as My servant the branch, Christ’s entry into Jerusalem on a colt, Christ as the good shepherd, as the smitten shepherd, Christ betrayed for 30 pieces of silver, Christ’s hands pierced, Christ’s people saved, Christ coming to the mountain of Olives which were all fulfilled in the gospels.
Thirdly the prediction of the effusion of the Holy Spirit on all flesh by Joel which was fulfilled on the day of Pentecost in Acts
Lastly Malachi predicted the forerunner of Christ which was fulfilled in the gospel books.
I’m grateful for the knowledge Axx has taught me and my spiritual knowledge has gone to another level of understanding. God bless you
