Uwen was a youth pastor for a number of years prior to undertaking full-time bible teaching.

Although a lecturer in theology and biblical studies with a focus on Pauline theology and the Gospels, Grant also operates as a professional counsellor and is working towards the completion of this Doctor of Philosophy by exploring a pneumatological reading of Galatians in light of 6:15 and the impact this has on Christian identify.

Old testament part 1 has been so interesting and educative. It has answered so many questions which will enable me teach and preach to my Christians.
I have learnt that whenever scripture is used in the new testament it is referring to the old testament. That the new testament equates the old testament with the voice of God.
I have also again been reminded that Israel was not chosen by God to be his people because of any special merit but because of God’s love, grace and faithful.
We give God all the glory for enabling me finish this course.

About your instructor
Dr Jon Newton
John is an Associate Professor at Alphacrucis College after serving for nine years at Harvest Bible College, most recently as Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Research. His goal is to promote Christian higher education and missions, including training students for Asia and Europe. Dr Jon’s Ph D was gained at Deakin University (conferred 2007) with a thesis entitled “Postmodernism, Christianity and the Book of Revelation.” The author of two books: Revelation Reclaimed: The Use and Misuse of the Apocalypse (Paternoster 2009) and The Revelation Worldview (Wipf and Stock 2015). I also edited New Frontiers: Redefining Christian Ministry for 21st Century Contexts (Mosaic 2013). I have also had a number of articles published in peer-reviewed journals such as Australian Biblical Review, Colloquium, Heythrop Journal and Journal of Pentecostal Theology. Taking the “Person & Work of the Holy Spirit” course has been a transformative experience that goes far beyond mere academic learning. From the moment I began the course, I felt invited into a deep, engaging exploration of one of the most profound and yet often misunderstood aspects of faith: the Holy Spirit.
The introductory session set the stage beautifully, offering a clear sense of direction while preparing me to embark on this spiritual and theological journey. The interview on how to journal provided practical insights that made the learning experience truly reflective and personal. The guidance on journaling wasn’t just about recording thoughts but creating a spiritual practice that enriched every step of the course.
Throughout the series, the interviews with key figures like Ian Grant, Fiona Sear, and Andrew Groza added incredible depth. These real-world insights made complex theological concepts accessible and relatable. Each interviewee brought a unique perspective, opening up new dimensions of understanding and challenging me to think deeper about how the Holy Spirit moves in and around us.
Excellent Presentation of the Work and Sanctification of the Holy Spirit
The second Part of this course on the Person and Work of the Holy Spirit detailed the complex subject of sanctification and the role of the Holy Spirit in an understandable yet deep way. The interviews continue to be extremely enjoyable and enlightening; I even went and got Tania Harris’s book after her interview which I’m thoroughly enjoying. A true Spirit-filled course!
This course continues to examine pneumatology by understanding the key aspects of the person and work of the Holy Spirit including the various Pentecostal, Evangelic and Charismatic views. Leading pastors and teachers share their views and experiences.

About your instructor
Dr Jon Newton
John is an Associate Professor at Alphacrucis College after serving for nine years at Harvest Bible College, most recently as Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Research. His goal is to promote Christian higher education and missions, including training students for Asia and Europe. Dr Jon’s Ph D was gained at Deakin University (conferred 2007) with a thesis entitled “Postmodernism, Christianity and the Book of Revelation.” The author of two books: Revelation Reclaimed: The Use and Misuse of the Apocalypse (Paternoster 2009) and The Revelation Worldview (Wipf and Stock 2015). I also edited New Frontiers: Redefining Christian Ministry for 21st Century Contexts (Mosaic 2013). I have also had a number of articles published in peer-reviewed journals such as Australian Biblical Review, Colloquium, Heythrop Journal and Journal of Pentecostal Theology. I am the editor of the Journal of Contemporary Ministry. Currently, I am working on a commentary on Revelation for a new Pentecostal commentary series. About your instructor
Tex Houston
Tex (Gary) became a successful pub musician in 1980’s, from there began working with large church & community organisations in media and music production. He has travelled to many places in the world, usually with a video camera and tripod, either doing documentaries on Australians working in other lands, or filming his own works on Anzac history in the First World War. In addition to being an avid steam engine enthusiast with YouTube channel ‘symphony of steam’, Tex is an authority on Christian worship.

This lecture was honestly an eye opener to me on how we should worship God, the way we worship God back then its no more like temple worship we worship him anywhere any place. The way we give to people and sever them should be away of how we will serve and give to God. Our presence and value is meant to uplift others. Mr. Tex Houston also mentioned about the way we should worship when we in church and the difference between a church service and a church gathering witch really did make a lot of sense cause when we come together to worship God its should be done in unity.
