Community Chaplaincy Overview
Welcome to UrbanRevs online training! We live in an ever complex and challenging world. Many followers of Jesus and faith leaders are passionately seeking out the ‘how to’ when it comes to seeing Jesus’ kingdom come. At UrbanRevs we are passionate about helping the local church grow every follower of Jesus to be authentic and effective when it comes to living out the kingdom. Whether you’re a protagonist passionate about leading change in local communities or a campaigner stirred in mission to make grace immanent – UrbanRevs will inspire you to genuine influence.
Many people incorrectly disqualify themselves when it comes to serving Jesus in the world they live in. Either, they think themselves not qualified, not suitable, or not authorised. They might say, “That’s not my role…” or “I don’t know how to…” or “I’ll wait for my church to lead the way…” Meanwhile, God’s kingdom and will coming to our community is subsequently disadvantaged. Who the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are and your relationship God.

My Review of thekKuestions art of listening
This course really pointed out to me the type of listener that I’ve been in the past and how I can become better. I was always the one that was an analyst as well as an interrupted. I was always thinking of what I wS going to say in return and how I could fix them instead of really being engaged and listening to what was being said .By asking questions about their feelings really helped me to be a better listener

Working in the lifestyle department in aged care this course has given me the tools to help sit with the questions that otherwise may have been too difficult to assess
Relevant and easy to follow

Listening is a Powerful tool.
I really enjoy the Art of Listening. l find it joy and loving. Just sitting down and listening to people during a funreal services or someone going through health issues or illness, Just giving myself to listening, it gives hope to someone and they can open up because we not open but listening to them.
Scripture talks alot about listening and God most of the times, trying to get the message to His people but, people hear but never listen and ended up in disaster, or hands of the enemies, because people hear but not listening.
I experence alot back in Papua New Guinea, where we havea death, or someone is going through health issues or you attended to customary obligions, and through those experiences l learn a lot by being there and listen to those stories. and l realise that, once we begings to seat with them and listen to their stories or ask two or three open end questions like what happens or how can we help sort out this, or how can l help, what can l do for you, they will pour their hearts out. Listening can heal or make a lot of different in their lives as well.
