Community Chaplaincy Overview
Welcome to UrbanRevs online training! We live in an ever complex and challenging world. Many followers of Jesus and faith leaders are passionately seeking out the ‘how to’ when it comes to seeing Jesus’ kingdom come. At UrbanRevs we are passionate about helping the local church grow every follower of Jesus to be authentic and effective when it comes to living out the kingdom. Whether you’re a protagonist passionate about leading change in local communities or a campaigner stirred in mission to make grace immanent – UrbanRevs will inspire you to genuine influence.
Many people incorrectly disqualify themselves when it comes to serving Jesus in the world they live in. Either, they think themselves not qualified, not suitable, or not authorised. They might say, “That’s not my role…” or “I don’t know how to…” or “I’ll wait for my church to lead the way…” Meanwhile, God’s kingdom and will coming to our community is subsequently disadvantaged. Who the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are and your relationship God.
This course is an introduction to the UrbanRevs Community Chaplaincy training. It is for those who want to become a Community Chaplain. It provides the biblical foundation for the Urban Revs Community Chaplaincy model. It is the introduction to the Level 2 Urban Chaplaincy Certificate.

Importance of learning
The lessons are an eye opener and the presentation was excellent. The lessons are easy to follow and to understand. The information is very useful and and can be easily be implemented in our communities. For me the art of of listening has been a major outstanding and it has helped me a lot in that area.
So very practical
So good to be reminded of the need to:

I was at golf when a golf mate said to me could you pray for my mum as she is not the best. I said yes I will pray for her but why dont you pray for her as well. With that he said no you are closer to God than me so I will leave it up to you.I tried to tell him that God is able to be reached by all and that he is near to you just pray to him.He did not want to have a bar of it.Sad as it is he did not want to know the gospel.Funny enough months later same guy came up to me and asked me to do a exorcism for him as where he lived a flat mate had died from a over dose and he could not go into the room as he felt that there were even spirits there but as weeks went on I heard no more about it.Why I tell you this it is about being patient an depending on God to take care of things. Two years earlier I first meet this man at golf and told him the gospel.Well he flew of the handle and started cursing Jesus I think he was a drug user then.I could not hold back and let him have it about sweaing about our Lord .Two weeks whent by and I had a conviction to go and appolized so I whent up to him and put my hand to say I was sorry the way I spoke to him With that he looked at my hand and walked away.I through to my self if that’s the way he feels about it well that’s it I did what the Lord sad I must do and left at that so we did not speak for almost 2 years until he came up to me one day and said that he was sorry and asked me to pray for his sick mum.
Not what I thought it would be.
The course could have had more to teach and could have used more text to read.
Could teach with original text.
