Highly practical!
Highly practical in providing effective tools for self evaluation and enabling performance driven goals to be successful.
Refresher and reminder
very interesting to see all subjects from different view points as opposed to one dimensional view.
Doing Good and practicing this is essential in our day to day walk with Christ.
I have been trying to do this with God in my walk this year to develop in this area, I ask God to show me who he wants me to minister to today or send someone who needs to hear from you. Quite often He doe’s and it has been happening in various ways. I have been excited to explore this in more detail as I fundamentally think it will help in my daily walk with doing God’s will, but for personal growth and development as well as expanding my ability to outreach to many. Thank you for your ability to share about purposing / activating this in study and teaching format.
My Review of thekKuestions art of listening
This course really pointed out to me the type of listener that I’ve been in the past and how I can become better. I was always the one that was an analyst as well as an interrupted. I was always thinking of what I wS going to say in return and how I could fix them instead of really being engaged and listening to what was being said .By asking questions about their feelings really helped me to be a better listener
The video was excellent in posting this out
Listening is a Powerful tool.
I really enjoy the Art of Listening. l find it joy and loving. Just sitting down and listening to people during a funreal services or someone going through health issues or illness, Just giving myself to listening, it gives hope to someone and they can open up because we not open but listening to them.
Scripture talks alot about listening and God most of the times, trying to get the message to His people but, people hear but never listen and ended up in disaster, or hands of the enemies, because people hear but not listening.
I experence alot back in Papua New Guinea, where we havea death, or someone is going through health issues or you attended to customary obligions, and through those experiences l learn a lot by being there and listen to those stories. and l realise that, once we begings to seat with them and listen to their stories or ask two or three open end questions like what happens or how can we help sort out this, or how can l help, what can l do for you, they will pour their hearts out. Listening can heal or make a lot of different in their lives as well.
Theory to practice
It was good to complete lessons that looks at how the church fits in with some of the real world issues around race, gender and the environment
Never too old to learn more!
Working through the Biblical Narrative is bringing my faith to another level. My understanding of the Old Testament has never been easy, but I am beginning to get a handle on the narrative. Matt’s knowledge is excellent and he explains things in a succinct and interesting way. I love how the Old and New Testaments compliment each other and bring the stories and truths to life.
GOD saves
The counseling was very good. I learnt a lot of new things that I can certainly apply in the future.
Extremely thorough and detailed!
I found part 2 challenging and confronting. I enjoyed learning about effective teamwork and communication. Conflict management was detailed and thorough, with a biblical lens. Mentoring and coaching and discipleship was well informed. Fantastic lectures, jam packed with gems and gold nuggets. Well done!
Holy Spirit not compromised!
After completing Part 1, I felt the Holy Spirit guide me into a solution to solve my plan dilemma. I have learnt in this series that if you submit your plans to the Lord, He will direct your path. He does not waste anything and if we first seek Him (God) and His righteousness and Kingdom, all things will be added unto you. Thank you!
Greater understanding and getting a renewed love of the scriptures.
Life has become busy with having a disabled son that my reading and studying the word got put off. Since doing the courses my focus and thoughts are more on the word of God .
Reaffirming
This unit has helped reassure and confirm what I am already doing for God and is helped me to grow in being more effective in group ministry
Positively Intense!
This is jam packed with good stuff!
I have learnt in this teaching:
Planning
How to build and work towards a God given purpose, destiny, future, goal, vision, and mission, but most importantly, how to execute this mission, with others and as part of a God given team!…I thoroughly found this session useful in helping me to identify my Godly purpose and mission on earth, thank you!
Thank you
GOD saves
This course was very informative. Very good overall.
Understanding the heart of God
I was able to have a more clear and deep understanding of God and the Trinity in both the Old and New Testament
Also scripture given to understand this concept will be very valuable to me when I am asked questions about the Trinity
Revelation Fusion NOT Confusion
Simply mind boggling, havent heard anything new in the lessons, things I have heard and read all my life since I have been a child.
So what’s new you ask? Revelation! I knew the words, I knew the references to some as well, and many verses I could finish by heart, what was really lacking was the revelation of what the spirit of God was really revealing to me at that point of time in my life, in my walk and on my journey.
My perspective, revelation and most importantly my reverence for the triune God has deepened, do i get it all? Absolutely not but on a far better footing than before i did the course.
I am better equipped to serve in my local church, where God has called me
Refresher and reminder
This is a great reminder of things I have learnt over the years in serving and in ministry,
CONTEXT IS IS BETTER THAN JUST TEXT
I personally think that the consistent emphasis on embracing the broader context of Biblical passages is particularly helpful in this unit. This is very helpful especially in Africa where most of the time, text overwrites context in sermons and even bible studies. Great unit for a good solid foundation in Scriptural studies and interpretation approaches.

The Missionary Church
The Church is bride of Christ, waiting for his second coming. While waiting, the Church should be commited in teaching out the world with Gospel of the Kingdom. Both leaders and members of the Church should be mission minded. The Church is built and strenghtened by edification, and motivated by soul winning, and prepared for the the great encounter with the Lord. As a part of the Church, I should concentrate on these three fold Principles.
May God bless the lecturer and the Axx Bible College staff.

Testimony of God's work in my life.
Sir, I say God bless Axx Bible College in Jesus name. Amen. Sir, I learnt that the gospel could be defined as the proclamation that Jesus is YHWH incarnate, King of the world, liberator of God’s people and bringer of peace. Sir, I also learnt that atonement means to be reconciled to God because our sins have been dealt with and we are forgiven. Sir, l further learnt that the effectiveness of our sermons as preachers of God’s Word are dependent on two factors : what we say and how we say it. In order of significance the ingredients making up a sermon are thought, arrangement, language, voice and gesture. In priority of impressions, however, the order reverses. Finally sir, I learnt that when a missionary can plant a church, disciple converts, train a few leaders and one of them to be the pastor then that missionary has ministered effectively cross culturally. Thanks sir.
Facing adversity
We are called to face adversity as christians, as it is inevitable. Through adversity our faith can grow as adversity is time for growth, believing God for his help and victory.
Transformation
I thank God for transforming my life through Axx bible college
NARCISSISM
Personal ego, position, and self achievement of the greatest obstacle in teams goal and achievement.
In a Christian context, Christian serves Jesus and not their own interest and if Christians continue to serve their own interest, they grief the Holy Spirit
Personal Management & Spiritual Health is an essential part of our ministry.
Going through this unit with Amelia Pickering was just super wonderful. I learnt skills that has shaped my ministry better than I thought and it came clearly to me that my ministry isn’t complete if my own management and spiritual life is not in check. Amelia humbly taught me skills to navigate through this process and I am grateful to her and entire team at Axx Global.
What I learned from this course
I recognized the basic or fundamental truth God (Jesus Christ). Many confusing things about Jesus were made straight to me in this course. Thanks to AXX bible college for this great opportunity
Acts of the Holy Spirit.
As a Christian/leaders we should not only claim we are filled with the Holy Spirit but we should be led/walk by the Holy Spirit.
Training is a necessity
I always thought a calling is enough hence no need for study theology. What I can say is, if there is someone think the way I used to think, you better change your mind. I have grown and I teach sound doctrine
Bible and Theology
Jesus. Kingdom. Gospel: Part 1
Jesus’ Kingdom” refers to the reign or rule of God, as taught and demonstrated by Jesus. It’s a central theme in the Gospels, often described as a present reality and a future hope, characterized by righteousness, peace, and joy. Jesus’ teachings about the kingdom emphasize its transformative power, both individually and collectively, and its implications for how believers live in the world.
God’s Reign:
The kingdom of God is fundamentally about God’s sovereign rule and authority. It’s not a physical territory, but a spiritual reality where God’s will is done.
Present and Future:
Jesus proclaimed that the kingdom of God had already come in his ministry, yet it also has a future consummation. His parables often illustrate this dual aspect.
Transformation:
Entering the kingdom of God requires a radical change of heart and life, turning away from sin and embracing God’s values. This transformation is both an individual experience and a societal impact.
Emphasis on Love and Justice:
The kingdom of God is characterized by love, compassion, and justice, challenging believers to live out these values in their relationships and actions.
Community:
The kingdom is not just an individual experience but also a community of believers who support and encourage one another in their faith.
Contrasting with Earthly Kingdoms:
Jesus’ kingdom contrasts with earthly kingdoms built on power, domination, and self-interest, highlighting the values of humility, service, and self-sacrifice.
In essence, the kingdom of God, as taught by Jesus, is a call to align one’s life with God’s will, experiencing transformation in the present and anticipating its full manifestation in the future, marked by love, justice, and peace.

The Importance of Genre in Interpreting Scripture
In this module, l have come to understand that the bible is composed of various literary genres. Learning about these genres has given me insight into their unique purposes and how they communicate truth. For instance, Epistles are authoritative, one-sided letters that offer instruction, encouragement, and advice. Narratives use real-life stories to instruct and leave a lasting impression on the memory. Poetry, which makes up nearly half of the Old Testament, is emotionally rich and powerfully expressive. Wisdom literature emphasizes thoughtful reflection and guides us in how to respond to life’s complexities. Recognizing these forms of genres deepens our understanding and application of Scripture.
Balancing Background, Context, and Genre in Biblical Interpretation
In this module, I learned that effective interpretation of Scripture requires a sound understanding of its historical and cultural background, while being careful not to let the background overshadow the actual meaning of the text. Both contextual and literary contexts are crucial in uncovering the original intent of the passage. Grasping the importance of avoiding allegorizing, topologizing, or over-spiritualizing the text unless the context clearly supports such an interpretation. These principles help ensure that our application of Scripture is accurate and specific. Additionally, understanding the different biblical genres is essential, as each genre guides and shapes how we interpret and apply a given passage.
Interpretation of the scripture
In this module, I learned that pre-understanding or presuppositions could distort our interpretation of Scripture, potentially leading us away from its true meaning. Therefore, it is essential to approach the Bible with openness, allowing the text to speak for itself. Proper interpretation begins with understanding the original context and then applying the meaning through the “principalizing bridge” to our present time. The goal is to discover the meaning God has already placed in the text, rather than imposing our own ideas onto it. Additionally, we were encouraged to read the Bible attentively—not skim it—by looking for patterns such as repetition, contrasts, comparisons, cause and effect, and by reading in context. This involves moving from general to specific and vice versa, and paying attention to questions and answers within the passage.
PENTATEUCH 2
Pentateuch part 2 is yet another milestone in advancement of knowledge in scripture. I have learnt a lot through these lessons concerning the Torah (Pentateuch).
The Torah wasn’t written just the ancient Israel (chosen by God as a covenant people) but also for us today. The Law reveals the expectations of God from His people. God is Holy and so the Torah drives this agenda, bringing us to holiness as we serve the One Who is holy. As scripture says, “be holy as I AM holy…” Our holiness is found in Him through the prescribed Torah. I am of the view that Torah is a prescription to our holiness and consecration. Without Torah, it would be difficult to ascertain the nature and image of the God we worship. Torah is the introduction of God to the ancient Israel and introduction of Christ to Christians today. This is because Christ is hidden in the Torah.
May God Bless You and God bless Axx Bible College.
Stages of Team Development
Since church is a very big organization, understanding the different function of different, ministries and levels of Leadership is very important. Dr Nigel Pegram teaching materials have given me more insights into Team development and their functions. eg: production team. service team, project and development team, strategy and policy team, action and performance team, i now better equipped but still yet to learn more, i also appreciate Dr Pegram for recommending many books regarding principles of team work, i now have more materials than what Dr Pegram has taught me. These materials will be of much help for me in my future ministry.
